I am watching the divide happening in our world and the instigators of this divide practicing an ancient but reliable form of control: Divide and Conquer.
Now we all know this method of war from school but what about how it is being played out within ourselves? What you see playing in the outer world always is being played out in our inner world as well.
How many times have you had a dream that you were in the midst of giving it your all and just knew it was going to happen when suddenly that inner negative voice begins to list the reasons you can’t or won’t ever have it? And you listened!
How many times when you are in the midst of creating something from love when suddenly you begin to hear all the reasons you are doing it wrong or not good enough? And you listened!
How many times have you desired to make a change only to be stopped in your tracks by that quiet voice that says, “Who are you to think you can do that?” And you listened!
In truth, we all have inner voices or parts of ourselves that practice the divide and conquer method whenever we dare to go beyond what we have experienced.
Call it what you want –negative ego, critical inner parent, inner saboteur –whatever. It really doesn’t matter. The bottom line is that when you are daring to move out of your status quo, you are going to experience a pull to stop and go back. And the only way it succeeds is to divide you from your power and conquer you through your fear. In other words, by getting you to listen and believe.
The more you move into Self-love, the less this trick of dividing and conquering will work on separating you from your power to dream and create. As with everything, there is only one antidote to fear, and that is love. Practice it first on yourself then you will be able to share it with the world.
Then when you see this technique of dividing and conquering being played out in the world, you will see it for what it is a way to control you and keep you from your power and stop you from believing in yourself and your fellow man/woman.
Until next time, be the light the world needs and stay in love for all.
