My parents showed the importance of changing your mind. My father’s first answer to any questions was always no. No, to where we wanted to eat. No, to Caribbean vacation. And even no to putting a pool into the yard -NO! Fortunately, my mother knew this about my dad that he always needed to say no and then turn around and say yes. Yes, to where we wanted to eat. Yes, to vacationing in the Caribbean. And even yes, to putting a pool into the yard. Even my mother had to change her mind about New York City when I moved there. She eventually fell in love with the city only after switching her mind.
When I hit a dark night of the soul, I felt useless and less than. I thought I would never get out of this dark night and feel happy again, but my mind shifted slowly, and slowly my life adjusted too. Even when I was grieving my mother’s passing and found myself in Texas, I had to change my mind again. I felt like I would never have a dream again. However, I did create new dreams. I wrote two books and found myself host on Spiritual CommonSense on HealthyLife.net. All of these things happened because I changed my mind.
Every single person on this planet can change their mind. By doing this, it keeps life fresh and new. It keeps our minds open and constantly expanding. And by doing this, you realize that the power always has and always does lie within ourselves. We all can change our minds, which is why this is an inspiration to me.
