This week’s inspiration is compliments. Compliments are unexpected blessings. Now, how many of us receive a compliment and we say, “Oh no, no, no, thank you. I don’t look that pretty, or I’m not that smart. How many of us say no to it because we don’t want to look conceited? And how many of us say no to it because we do not believe the compliment?
A compliment is given to lift our spirits, to have us rise above our ordinary feelings and feel blessed and looked upon and seen. So why do we say no to compliments? Because we were not told we should say yes to them.
If someone tells you you’re pretty, say thank you very much. If someone says you look like you lost weight, say thank you very much. If someone says you seem very bright, say thank you very much. And do not say, Oh no, I am not. Oh, I’m not that smart. Oh, no, I’m not that pretty. Oh no, I put some weight on. That takes the blessing and turns it into a negative which does nothing for your life.
So the next time you get a compliment, say thank you and accept the unexpected blessing, knowing you’re receiving it from the universe through someone else’s mouth. And when you say yes, you’ll receive many more of them, and when you say no, you’re saying no to the universe. I don’t deserve it, and I’m not going to accept it. So, decide what you want to do: accept the blessings or say no thanks. It’s all about self-love, people.
