Unfortunately, as we grow up, it tends to close down a bit or have walls put around it. It does not matter where you were born or where you were raised. We tend to learn to hide our hearts and only share them with a few. I have met the most loving people who suddenly shut down when they see a person doing something they do not approve of.
I remember hearing a man on a news show explain how he got out of the White Supremacist movement. It was not people marching or yelling or shaming him. Instead, people at his job were black and gay and treated him with kindness and respect. These people sharing their loving hearts with him opened up his loving heart to himself.
Part of Self-love understands that you were born with a beneficial heart waiting to be uniquely expressed through you. There are two vital facts in this phrase – beneficial and uniquely. Just Like the great master teacher Jesus did – when he shared his heart with the low downs – the crooks – the taxmen and the whores. He did not wait to see if they were worthy. Instead, his loving heart told him all are worthy. The other vital word was “uniquely” – It did not say we all express the same way – no, it says uniquely expressed through you. It says uniquely because the universe knows we are all different – Again, we all live in a free-will world, which means there are over 7.75 billion ways for us to express our loving hearts, which delights the universe.
I firmly believe that as we grow and accept that every person has been given a loving heart to be uniquely expressed through them, we will begin to share our hearts with all the people we meet. – We no longer wait for them to be the same as us but openly accept that we all are different and are worthy of love.
